Welcome. This page is your map — what this site is, who it's for, the ground it covers, and the handful of essays to read first.

What this site is

This is a long-running record of what I'm learning about artificial intelligence, software, money, faith, and the patient craft of building a life of leverage — written from Africa, for anyone who's curious and serious. It is not a news feed and not a hype machine. Every piece is meant to still be useful in five years: plain-English explainers, honest tool comparisons, step-by-step guides, and essays on the questions technology forces on us.

I write the way I'd explain something to a sharp friend who's starting from zero — no jargon for its own sake, no padding, and no pretending the hard parts are easy. If a piece can't be honest about the tradeoffs, it doesn't get published.

Who it's for

For the student in Dar es Salaam teaching themselves to code at night. For the developer wondering whether AI is coming for their job. For the believer trying to keep their soul intact in an age of infinite feeds. For the founder building something real with very little. If you want to understand how modern technology actually works — and use it without losing your judgment, your money, or your peace — you're in the right place.

The seven things we write about

Everything on the site lives under one of seven themes. Pick the one that fits where you are right now:

Read these first

If you only have time for a few, start with these. They frame how I think about everything else — read them in order and the rest of the site will click into place.

How to get the most from this site

Three habits, in order of usefulness. First, join the newsletter — one quiet email a week, no spam, easy to leave. It's the best way to actually keep up, and it's the one channel no algorithm can take away from either of us. Second, browse the full archive or search for a specific question you have. Third, when a piece genuinely helps you, share it with one person who needs it — that's how this work spreads.

That's the whole map. Start with one essay above, or wander into a category that pulls you in. Either way, I'm glad you're here.
